Soil Spraying
Subterranean termites nest in the soil to obtain moisture. They easily attack any wood that is in contact with the ground. Soil spraying is a method of applying a termiticide directly to the soil to eradicate existing termite infestation or to prevent future termite attacks. During the pre-construction stage, the following areas must be treated accordingly to achieve a complete soil barrier:
- Under PCC of Footing or Foundation.
- Trench on Sides of Footing or Foundation.
- Under PCC of Tie Beam.
- Trench Around Sides of Tie Beam.
- Under PCC of Ground Slab.
- External Perimeter.
Soil Injection
Anti-Termite Control : Termiticide application is still possible even when the concrete slab is completely cast. This could be done by drilling through the concrete floor until the soil will be accessible for termiticide application. Soil injection is the proper method when trenching is not applicable on vertical areas such as perimeter, sides of footing, sides of tie beam, etc.
